Born from an ancient sea

Millions of years ago, much of North Africa lay beneath a shallow inland sea. As climates changed and the waters slowly disappeared, they left behind vast mineral deposits beneath what would eventually become the Sahara Desert.

The salt lakes of Siwa are part of that story. What arrives at a customer’s facility today began forming long before humans built cities, crossed oceans or wrote history.
